Fox News Claims Obama Is Cutting Back On Advertising

Fox News just claimed Obama has pulled all ads from South Dakota, Montana, Florida and Virginia.

Is this true?  I didn't even think they had targeted South Dakota, only North Dakota.

Sorry for the short diary, but i had not heard this before.

Re: Fox News Claims Obama Is Cutting (2.00 / 2)

Well, it can't be that they're giving up on those states, especially FL and VA.  My guess is that Fox doesn't know what its talking about, unless they pulled ads in order to introduce new ads on the housing issue and/or the VP.

Red state / Blue State (none / 0)

Although Florida, and even VA,  would SHOCK and SCARE me -- we have to compete there.

But the rest don't surpirse me.   This, regardless of what some said during the primaries, will be a red state blue state affair, with a small twist.   NV, VA, and CO have been trending our way in recent years.

My boss does.  I sit there and make snarky comments the whole time.  Annoys the hell out of him.

He's my long-term project...

Sorry, I always have other audio on when Fauxing (2.00 / 2)

I always believe FAUX news on the Obama team's strategy, I think Axelrod probably runs everything by Rupert before he decides..

Here's some advice about Faux.

It's best to watch it with some really LOUD fusion Jazz running over the audio.

Try Return to Forever, or the Mahavisnu Orchestra?

Actually listening to what they are saying can be bad for your brain.

Probably the convention (2.00 / 2)

Remember, Obama has to spend all of his primary money before the end of the primary season (marked by the convention), or he has to give it back or otherwise sort out the money's fate.

He might have simply run the primary funds for those states out, and not bothered to put more in because the convention is next week.

The pebbles have voted and the avalanche has begun.

Re: Probably the convention (2.00 / 1)

Yeah, and along those same lines, after the Republican convention, McCain will be reliant exclusively on public money and will likely have less to spend than Obama.  So that may explain their recent media blitz, including the early start to the negative ad season.  They may have figured that was their only shot to get ahead of the curve.  I think it was a good gambit, but we'll have to see how it plays out once we're into the General season.
